Q. if the wedding is in sept, oct time?? is it too gothic? not getting married on halloween, just love the fall colors and black feels much more me...... but not too sure how the family will react.....
A. I wouldn't totally do an all black lace wedding dress ( but that is me personally). What you could do is have a white one but add black in little areas of the dress to make it feel more you. An example you can have a black lace belt/sash that ties in the back. Or add black lace and beading on the dress in areas by your bust and down by the end of the dress. Also remember it is your wedding day and if you want a black lace dress go for it, whatever you decide to do your family should just be happy to celebrate your special day with you. Good Luck on your dress and inyour wedding, best wishes!!
Wanting to change the string on a lace up wedding dress?
Q. Does anyone know where to get different colored strings for a lace up corset on a wedding dress? I have looked all over the web and can't find anything. I'm just wanting to find the string only, and wanting black which is a simple color. Just seeing if anyone may know a site or even a store.
A. Go to a fabric store and look for satin or gros grain ribbon in the same width as the ribbon lacing up the corset. Alternately, the bridal salon may be able to make this switch when you order your dress.

can you add a layer of lace to a wedding dress?
Q. I bought an A-line empire waist wedding dress, not very poofy with a short train, and it is very simple. I have been really into lace recently and I wanted to add a layer of Ivory (the color of the current dress) lace over the top of the dress (from the waist down) and i wanted to know if that is possible, and if so, how much do you think it would cost. Thanks so much! I just want to look as beautiful as possible.
A. My dear, go to a bridal shop and speak with the seamstress. It is not the material, but the labor that would be costly. A good seamstress probably costs $50 per hour. But your gown sounds lovely, my dear. If u r into lace, can u add lace some other way? A lace hat? Lace stockings?
Can the lace on my wedding dress be removed?
Q. I'm ordering my wedding dress online and I want a white dress but the lace to be apple red. But I'm worried that it might not be the right color as my sash from david's bridal apple red. If it is the wrong color can I take it out and replace it or I would just order it white and have it dyed. What do you all think? My main concern is can the lace be removed, then I can decided which way to go with this. Thank you.
A. to answer your question YES, it can be done. One thing you might want to look into is having a sash made to match the red of the lace that comes in.
